On Monday, September 15th, technology classes will take part in making our mark. The Dot by Peter Reynolds is suggested reading for Dot Day. Students are asked to dress in dots for the day and classes have a variety of activities planned for the day.
During the 2013 - 2014 school year, the third and fourth grade students will practice blogging using Kidblog (http://kidblog.org/home/). Kidblog is a safe and simple blog for the students. The digital technology standard for this activity is: ISTE NET*S Standard: Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. Students create original works as a means of personal or group expression. Where in the world is Flat Stanley? What is he doing? The Oak Hill students have sent out their versions of Flat Stanley on an awesome summer vacation. When Flat Stanley writes home, we will post his adventures on our travel blog. We hope that you will add your comments to his blog. Don't forget to check the map for his newest location! Flat Stanley's Travel Blog My WeeMee One of my favorite apps is great for creating a Weemee. A small Avatar that has similar traits as yourself. The WeeMee on the left has similar tastes in color and is wearing a pair of tennis shoes in orange. I love my orange tennis shoes!
My students have found several other places to create avatars for their blogs. Here is a short list of some of their suggestions.
